Wes Montgomery Style Octaves
About Course
Using octaves in jazz guitar solos is one of the signature sounds of Wes Montgomery.
Every jazz guitarist should learn how to use octaves in their playing as using octaves adds depth to your improvisation.
Octaves make heads and themes to melodies sound fuller and add another colour to your lines.
Besides Wes, other guitarists such as Emily Remler, Terry Smith, George Benson, and Jim Mullen also use octaves in their playing.
To help you get started using octaves in your playing I have written out three studies which range from easy to challenging:
- C Jam Blues
- Bb Jazz Blues Solo
- Blue Bossa Solo
The aim of these studies is to teach you how to effectively implement using octaves in your playing.
Besides the three octave studies, the course also comes with bonus material which includes:
- A Wes Montgomery Techniques lesson & PDF
- A Four on Six One Chorus Study & Breakdown
So join the fun and learn how to play and use octaves in your jazz guitar playing today!
