Basic Jazz Chords
When learning to play jazz guitar there are many chords we must learn, so deciding which ones to learn first can be overwhelming for students who are new to jazz guitar.
These chords are the bare minimum you need to know to get your through most jazz standards without making any big fretboard leaps. There are three inversions for each chord on adjacent string sets.
Practice all of the chords in all 12 keys and apply them to tunes that you are working on. When you feel comfortable with these inversions the next step would be to look at drop 2 voicings.
